Old parking meters being recycled into bicycle racks in Manhattan

Last month New York City unveiled plans to convert numbers of parking meters into bicycle racks, attaching hoops to the old posts to give cyclists another option for parking in the Big Apple. Already the city is host to David Byrne's funky racks and numbers of other striking designs aimed at announcing bicycling's presence in the big city and making the streets and sidewalks inviting places to park.
